May has been a busy busy month for the Sirens. Check out what we've been up to and scroll on to register for upcoming fun rides and events.
p.s. a little bonus event at the end that was just so fun, we couldn't save it for our June update!
Queer and Allies Ride 🏳️🌈

Our first Queers and Allies ride of the year was on May 3rd. We had an awesome turnout to kick off the year's rides!
Stay tuned for our next one on July 5th. Get more deets and RSVP here.
Trail Maintenance

On May 5th - Adidas 5-10 and the NSMBA hosted a trail day on Cypress. There was a huge crew of Sirens and other community folks came out to work on berms, drains, bridges, and other fun things. Adidas provided their usual generous swag and snacks. Good times were had by all.
The NSMBA continues to host the Women's+ Dig Series all across the Shore. June 12 is the Women's+ Dig Series wrap-up celebration, so join us if you've dug with us.
If you're looking to do some more digging this summer, the NSMBA events page has a mighty list of dig days coming up in June.
Stay tuned for info about our Fall Shore Sirens Dig Days on 7th Secret!
Race Team Update 🚵♀️

The race team has started off the season with some good training and serious hardware.
On May 4th, they headed up to Squamish to have a coaching session with Jaime Hill from Hilltop MTB, as well as pre-ride the Loam Hustler course. The next weekend they returned to take part in the Loam Hustler and Jessie pulled a 1st place in her category!
Coming up, we're excited to receive our team jerseys so stay tuned for a launch party at Adidas! In June we will also have another race-focused coaching session with Jaime Hill.
Mentorship Program ✨

On May 7th we had our mentorship program kickoff picnic for everyone to get together and meet. We have 27 participants this year and have been loving to see all the biking pictures and videos!
Special Events 🎪
Our second social event was held at WildEye after Fiver pre-ride on May 6th. We had about 15 Sirens hang for drinks and bust out their favourite tunes at karaoke.
On June 21st, we're holding our first ever Shore Sirens Coastal Collective at Coast Gravity Park on the Sunshine Coast. We're bringing together any and all women+ riders who want to celebrate the summer solstice with some bike park laps. Join us to ride bikes, make new friends and camp on the Sunshine Coast.
Workshops 🗣️
On May 1st, we hosted our second Mechanics Workshop at Steed Cycles where we learned how to bleed brakes with the help of expert mechanic, Bridget Penny. The stoke was high and now our bikes are ready to send with the power of full brake stoppage.

Our workshops are in full swing, with four more to go this summer. Check them out below and register to up your mechanic skills and your confidence.
Scoot and Sizzle 🔥
June 3rd saw some of our Shore Sirens leave the mountain bikes behind and hop on a fleet of scooters, thanks to Cycle BC. After a tour around Stanley Park, the gang headed back to the clubhouse for a bbq and to recount the evening's adventure.
Check out the fun times that were had below and keep an eye on our events page to see what fun you can join in on next!
