Meet our 2025
race team
Supported by Adidas / 5.10 and Steed Cycles

Jessie Curell
After a super-fun summer last year with the Sirens Race Team, Jessie is mega jazzed to be on the new team this year for the 2nd season. Her goals this year are to work on braking less, pumping more, and charging through the flat sections like Jesse Melamed.

Mia
Mia first started riding bikes in 2014 on a humble hardtail in Aberdeenshire, Scotland. Since then, her love of the sport slowly started to grow, and soon began unlocking new terrain and challenges on her first full-suspension bike in 2019. Moving to BC in 2022 with a longing for further exploration and adventure, she joined the Shore Sirens and the women+ MTB community. Brand new to racing in 2025, her goals are to strengthen her technical riding skills and push for more speed, while supporting and cheering on her teammates as they triumph at races and MTB events this season!

Emma
Emma is from England and came to Canada for snowboarding but stayed for the mountain biking! She enjoys scaring herself on tech trails and riding in new areas across BC. This is her first season racing and she is using her cycle commute for daily training. Her goal is to manage the pressure of racing and continue to progress and have fun throughout the season.

Hanna
Hanna began riding as a child in Toronto and always dreamed of mountain biking in BC. Her opportunity came when she started her master's degree at UBC. She loves racing enduro but also enjoys riding gravel and the bike park. This season, her goal is to have fun in the Crankworx Open Enduro.

Marisa
Marisa has been mountain bike riding for about 15 years. She has competed in many XC and all-mountain races, including the BC Bike Race, where the climbing is timed as well as the descents. The last few years she has taken a liking to enduro style racing, loving to go fast as she can and always improving technique. She loves the many different places mountain biking has taken her, but she especially loves the sea to sky region.

Gaby
Gaby has been mountain biking since 2020, and discovered she enjoyed pushing her limits in enduro racing a few years ago. In 2024, she had an idea to form a Shore Sirens race team, which took off and they are now in their second year. Gaby’s goals are to find her speed, confidence, and just have fun as she returns to biking and racing after recovering from a (surprisingly non-mountain biking related) knee repair. Gaby is also the Shore Sirens Race Team Manager.
