Coast Gravity Park is located on the traditional and unceded territory of the shíshálh (Sechelt) Nation.
Grey skies and a little drizzle was no match for the stoke of 64 women+ that descended on Coast Gravity Park for a full day of shredding bikes, eating snacks, and sharing laughs.
The lead up
When we sat down at our first Board meeting to plan the season, one event idea caught our interest right away: a women+ bike park day at Coast Gravity Park (CGP). What began as a something small and simple quickly snowballed into a more epic mission. Rather than keeping it private and exclusive to Shore Sirens members, we wanted to open up an opportunity for clubs across the Pacific Northwest to connect and build a stronger community. So we reached out to 14 different clubs from Pemberton to Bellingham, Powell River to Kamloops and the rest, as they say, is history.
Our goal with Coastal Collective was to create a welcoming, inclusive day that belonged to everyone. Not just hosted by one group, but shaped by the energy, contributions, and spirit of many. In the end, 64 riders from 10 different clubs across BC and Washington answered the call.
Arrive and ride
From the moment we got to CGP, the energy was palpable. People were already stepping in to help hang banners, carry gear, set up coffee and snacks, adorn faces with glitter, and greet each other like old friends. There were plenty of new faces yet it already felt like close-knit community. Everyone was excited to ride.
The day started with club introductions and a few words before the first shuttles started loading up for a steep ascent to the top. Riders of all experience levels piled in - from first-timers to bike park regulars, all ready for a full day of laps. Whether you were rolling mellow and flowy Mr. Green laps or pushing yourself to try out bigger features for the first time, there was something for everyone to enjoy and progress on.
The misty rain that greeted us in the morning cleared up by early afternoon to bright, blue-ish skies and warmer temps. Shuttle after shuttle and lap after lap, the stoke only grew. From supportive sessioning to fist-bumps at the bottom of zoomy hot laps, the riding was everything we’d hoped for - fun, inclusive, and absolutely unforgettable.
A delicious après
The post-ride potluck was a highlight in itself. A full-on feast where everyone pitched in to create an absolutely mind-blowing meal of sweet and savoury bits and bites. Some standouts included the cheesy bread twists, the Lotus brownies, and the delicious Passionfruit IPA courtesy of our Trails Director, Jade, and her partner Alex at Yacht Rock Brewing.
Camping and karaoke
To make it a full weekend experience, we invited folks to camp out with us Saturday night. While we originally planned to stay at Coast Gravity Park, a last-minute change meant we had to find a new spot. Thanks to Coleen at Bayside Campground, we had the perfect place to regroup and relax (yeah… right).
After settling in, the Sirens hosted an incredible pizza night complete with Italian tunes and build-your own pizza pies. Our Director of Marketing, Hanna, fired up the portable oven, rolled out some homemade dough, and churned out 40 pizzas in total.
As the sun went down, we wandered the beach, took a dip in the inlet, and finished the day gathered around the karaoke machine, competing against the old guitar player camped next door. Here's hoping he enjoyed the cover versions of some of our faves as much as we did!
A collective effort
The first ever Shore Sirens Coastal Collective was everything we hoped for and more. What made it so special wasn’t just the riding but the way everyone showed up, contributed, and made it their own. We’re deeply grateful to everyone who showed up, helped out, and brought this vision to life. We hope it’s the start of a tradition: one that celebrates community, connection, and the power of riding together.

Thanks to all those that came out from local(ish) clubs and groups to join Shore Sirens for the day - Ride Mount Mahony, Qathet Regional Cycling Association, SORCA, Les Chèvres BC, Ladies Who Loam, WORCA, Squamish Gravel Girls, Whatcom Mountain Bike Coalition, and the Mountain Ravens.
Special Thanks to Meg and Steve from Tandem Photography
