About the event
Join us for our third workshop, where we’ll be making sure your brake system is in check and maximizing our stopping power on trail. We’ll be learning to identify and address pad wear, rotor/pad contamination and alignment of calipers, as well as fine tuning at your brake lever. A lucky few (4-5) will get to demo a bleed on their bikes (flushes hydraulic brake system of air bubbles and stale hydraulic fluid). Mechanic (non-fluid) brake users, don’t worry, we’ll have tips for you too! BYOB - Bring Your Own (e-)Bike!
Our workshop will be led by Bridget Penny. Bridget (she/her) is a Universal Bike Institute (UBI) trained Mechanic for Steed Cycles and has been in the bike industry for over a decade. She worked and taught at The Wrench in Winnipeg and instructed for the McDonald’s at-risk youth program. Her passion for educating is only matched by her love of wheel-building.
$5 from your purchase will go to Indigenous Women Outdoors (IWO) - a nonprofit organization helping Indigenous women and gender expansive community members connect with nature in a low cost environment.
