About the event
In this workshop, we’ll cover sport nutrition basics, including macro and micro nutrients, training fuel, hydration and electrolytes. We hope you’ll leave with a better understanding of how and when to fuel for your rides and beyond!
This workshop will be led by Camila Remolina (she/her) and Iris Keetels (she/her), who are both achieving their Master of Nutrition and Dietetics at the University of British Columbia.
Camila: “I completed my undergraduate degree in Kinesiology, with a strong focus on exercise, performance, and nutrition. Being active and training has been a big part of my life, which has made me really interested in understanding how nutrition can help us feel better, perform better, and support our health long-term. I’m excited to share some of what I’ve learned, along with practical tips and strategies that can help support training, recovery, and performance.”
Iris: “I have a strong passion for sports and love moving my body in nature. During the first year of my master’s, I had the privilege of completing my practice placement at NoSweatNutrition with Sandra, where I had the opportunity to deepen my knowledge and gain hands-on experience in sports nutrition. This experience further strengthened my passion for helping athletes and active individuals fuel their bodies, perform at their best, and enjoy the process along the way. I'm excited to share some nutrition knowledge with you!”
The workshop is facilitated by Sandra Frail, BSc, RD, IOC Dipl. Sports Nutrition (she/her) and Founder and Sports Dietitian at No Sweat Nutrition. Sandra supports athletes through all stages of training and recovery, with expertise in ultramarathon fueling, Relative Energy Deficiency in Sport (REDs), hypothalamic amenorrhea (HA), and eating disorders recovery. Sandra is also a UBC Clinical Instructor, ultra runner and mountain biker.
